Lol, if the US was involve:

1: lot less earth people would have died do to all the guns.
2: The US would be Fundraising and sending Millions in aid to them.
3: Peace talks would involve give them land on US because it is their gate.
4: At the same time the US would be sneaking in finding ways to open their own gates and taking all lands and resources that are unclaimed and make trade for the land that is already taken.
( give us that city and we will give you 10 boom sticks)
5: The US likes to trick you into doing what they want, In real life i am betting Japan and almost every other country would be gunning down everything in their path. heck less than 100 years ago Japan army was known to do suicide booming and eating people. (It is not talked about in school much because of PC but you can look it up...)

You forget that most of that aid goes to rich people and never makes its to it's intented target, and as much as I hate to say it, the US has also done as many horrible things as Japan, and all other Imperial Powers. As this anime showed more then anything, war means death and destruction as much as it means opertunity. The US also tends to bully more then trick; get on our bad side and we saction you/ cancel your credit and trade. Either way if the dub replaced JSDF with USAAF {ArmyAirForce) as in WWII you'd likely see the same plot play out. When you hear the war stories of vets, you can see the insperation for this show; heck the helicopter scene was a spoof of Apocalypse Now ; from the US Vietnam war, which pitted the mighty Advanced US vs the Medevil Vietnam. That said this anime as Plot Amour where the US didn't.

No so sure about that, the vast majoirty aren't armed every second. That Gate Opens in Disney World or L.A and it'll be open season. Besides the element of suprise is always a big factor. Also if you've ever seen America's Most Wanted and Unsolved Mysterious our nation has it's own evil doing that *** already. Grant it it's easier to capture them in the act with all all cameras, but still.

I'd be okay with it happening there, cause it'd kinda be funny. For one, Disney would never recover. And two. LA has a ton of gang related violence, so there, Chicago or NY... total blood bath in every way. Be like the wild west. But in more rural areas, like New England, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, most of Tornado Alley... It would an absolute sh!t show for them. To be honest, most cities in the US, I'd be okay with that happening. Though it'd be hilarious if they got gunned down during hunting season... Cause it'd be... wait for it... Open Season on them XD
